    Public Cloud FAQs

During the on-boarding process, our experienced solutions architects provide free, expert consultation on what type of cloud is best for your commercial goals, your technical and security needs, and your budget. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions we encounter when discussing the cloud with clients.

    What is public cloud?

Public cloud is a multi-tenant cloud computing deployment model, meaning the CPU, RAM, storage and network hardware is shared between multiple tenants. Although hardware is shared on public cloud, you are still able to take advantage of multiple physical servers and networks. This means that public cloud hosting is often more reliable and capable of higher performance than typical virtual private server or shared hosting services.

How is public cloud different to private cloud?

With private cloud, some or all of the underlying hardware is dedicated to a single tenant, which provides extra certainty of consistent performance. UKFast's private cloud solutions provide fully dedicated CPU and RAM, reserved totally for you. Storage resources can also be shared, as in public cloud environments, or completely dedicated to the user.

Can other tenants see my cloud?

Can public cloud really handle any size business?

Is my data secure on public cloud?

Do you offer encryption for public cloud?
